Aloha: A Spiritual Blessing
Aloha is more than a worldly concept it is a spiritual way of life. It is part of a greater body of wisdom that encompasses means of affection, peace, compassion, and mercy. Aloha is also a compound of the Hawaiian words alo meaning "presence", "front", "face", or "share"; and ha, meaning "breath of life" or "essence of life". Although alo does indeed mean "presence", etc. By itself, the word for "breath" has a long A (h?), whereas the word aloha does not.
According to the old kahunas (priests), being able to live the Spirit of Aloha was a way of reaching self-perfection and realization for our own body and soul. Aloha is sending and receiving a positive energy. Aloha is living in harmony. When you live the Spirit of Aloha, you create positive feelings and thoughts, which are never gone. They exist in space, multiply and spread over to others.
"As you continue to send out love, the energy returns to you in a regenerating spiral... As love accumulates, it keeps your system in balance and harmony. Love is the tool, and more love is the end product."
