The cerebellum, together with the heart chakra and crown chakras, are the main channels through which we can interact and “talk" with our Divine Being.
Spiritual Anatomy - The Esoteric Significance of the Cerebellum
The five senses are also expressions of our human powers. We use them constantly and accept that they obey only mechanical and physical laws. But as our physical bodies in the womb were built upon the manifesting astral body, it is understandable that the physical senses also have their astral counterparts, which some psychics use. The physical senses are expressions of five different energies of the intermediate nature of man, and are the avenues -- or function as such -- by which man may become self-consciously aware of the outer world. In a way, these senses are a help, and in another manner, they are a detriment to progress. They are a help because they show somewhat of the nature that is around man, and it is through the senses that much of his ordinary consciousness at present functions, thus learning much about the world and fellow human beings. This learning ultimately teaches lessons of self-control and helps to awaken the faculties of pity, of love, of compassion, and of the will to do better, which are within man. -- G. de Purucker, Golden Precepts of Esotericism, p. 83
Just as good blood circulation keeps the body strong and healthy, so does the reciprocal current of Creation. An obstruction in the flow of Creation tends to cause confusion and illness that ultimately ends in disaster.
This obstruction is mostly created by our human minds because we have allowed ourselves to be dominated by linear, logical reasoning, making this reasoning the ruler of all things and the “standard” method. It is safe to say that we have become slaves to this “thinking mechanism,” becoming materialistic beings.
As humans clung exclusively to reason, intuition was pushed aside, disregarded, and forgotten; and ultimately, it has become thought of as mysteriously strange and untrustworthy.
This way of living naturally caused a decrease in the activities of the whole human brain and induced the neglected parts to grow weaker due to lower utilization. The most overlooked part of the brain was the cerebellum, which takes care of intuition and manifestation.
Our cerebellum is a remnant of the Moon stage of evolution; it sits there as a sign of the battles that the Gods fought for us. The cerebellum arose from what was thought on old Moon. There were no errors in our thoughts then, for divine powers thought for us and guided our thoughts. The man had no freedom yet; divine beings directed him. Now that he's become independent, he must be responsible for what he thinks. There are also remnants of old Moon in the cerebrum's pineal and pituitary glands; on old Moon, they were what the lung and heart are in man today. And what a man does now will form his cerebrum on Jupiter. What he thinks in connection with his cerebrum now will form his cerebellum on Jupiter. A man must bear the consequences of his thinking now that he's become free, and the cerebellum sits in the back of his head like a judge, for it will take the effects of everything that he thought on earth over to Jupiter[1].
The cerebellum, together with the energetic aspect of the heart (the heart chakra) and the crown chakra, at the top of the head, are the main channels through which we, as humans, can interact and “talk" with our Divine Being.
Thus, with less use of intuition, this function of the human spirit was strongly hindered or even turned off completely.
As a result of this abuse, the posterior area of the brain, the cerebellum, grew uneven about the forebrain; and, over the millennia, the hindbrain was overwhelmed by negligence, and the normal infusion of spirit was prevented. With the wilting of the cerebellum, it was much more difficult to navigate the subtle worlds.
The functions of the cerebellum are directly related to the Alta Major Chakra.
The Alta Major Chakra is a colored emerald green vortex located at the back of the neck where the skull meets the neck. The Alta Major Chakra is associated with the occipital part of the brain and the optic nerve.
The Alta Major Chakra, or the point known as the Mouth of God[2], is part of the “Golden Triangle” points, which, when properly activated, will lighten up the entire brain, particularly the temporal lobes, which are so important to our next evolutionary exploration. Alta Major is the physical correspondence to the Antahkarana or our Rainbow Body. It has the power to bring down intuitive vision into consciousness. It is the healer’s conscious link with the Higher Mind.
"The fire in the center of the triangle burns cold, and destroys all that is not pure gold."
Influenced by the Third Ray, the Alta Major is a minor center but functions as a major center. The Alta Major is connected with the Carotid body, which monitors oxygen content in the blood and controls respiration. When the Alta Major is fully developed, it forms a communication center between the vital energy of the spinal column, Kundalini, and the energy of the two other head centers, the Crown and Ajna. The Alta Major has a powerful link with the cerebellum (voluntary muscle movements), the medulla oblongata (breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure), and also connections with the throat, Heart Center, and spine. The throat center connects with it at the moment the Antahkarana is starting to be built.
Alta Major development leads to an acquired and conscious control of one’s dharma, or Soul-work on earth. When the Alta Major Chakra is balanced, it can enable us to see the big picture in life. Through the Alta Major Center, the Spiritual Will of the Crown Center is balanced.
The Alta Major center is mainly related to sleep and the working out of past experiences during sleep. As an energy center based at the base of the skull, it can carry the energy of past life blockages. It is helpful to go to sleep with the consciousness gently focused on the Ajna center.
Gnostic References
According to the Modern Gnostic Teachings by Samael Aun Weor, our head is a tower with two halls, which are the brain and cerebellum. The cerebellum is the hall of the subconscious, while the brain is the hall of consciousness. The wisdom of the inner worlds belongs to the world of the subconscious mind. The things of the physical world belong to the consciousness hall of our head. When consciousness and the subconscious unite harmoniously, an individual can study all the wonders of the inner worlds and pass them on to their physical brain.
The key to this is to practice the “Retrospective exercise”. Upon awakening after sleeping, practice a retrospective exercise to remember everything that you have seen and heard during your sleeping stage, and all those jobs that are performed when you were far from your physical body. This is how the two halls of consciousness and the subconscious can bridge, uniting to give us the abundant enlightenment, or the Esoteric Discipline of the Mind.
The Igneous Serpent of our magical powers sprouts out of the membranous pouch, which was closed up from the medullary canal to the cup (cerebellum). The medullary canal detaches certain nerve wires that connect to the seven chakras in the astral, related to the seven plexuses in the etheric, and seven glands in the physical.
All clairvoyant perceptions have to pass through the cerebellum, just across the Pons Varolli[3], and reach the brain. The unconscious insights become conscious when they reach the physical brain[4].
Inside the Sushumna[5], we find a channel called Brahma Nadi, which is the channel through which the Kundalini passes. The lower end of Chitra [6] is called Brahmawar. It is called so because it is the door of Brahman (God); that is, the door of God's energy, or Kundalini, since it must pass through this door to reach Brahmarandra located in the cerebellum.
Inside the brain of every living creature, there is always the presence of a resonating keynote that is almost imperceptibly heard. This keynote belongs to the Ray, which each being belongs to, and it seems that it resonates from the cells of the cerebellum. Some listen to the sound of flutes from the Egyptian Ray; others hear the "gong “from the Eastern Ray, other than the roar of the ocean ways of the Lunar Ray.

[2] Referred to as “the Breath of God” in esoteric literature, it is an epicenter of the energies of the higher mind that is now awakening and connecting to the 6th & 7th Chakras: the 3rd Eye and Crown.
